SAMA
The Sama identity is derived from the term "sama-sama" (togetherness or collective effort) as helping each other is recognized as one of the notable qualities of Sama.

Noted for their exceptional skills in maritime activities, the Sama people are highly dispersed and scattered in the islands of Tawi-Tawi with sets of customs and practices that are unique to their own. They are called based on their place of residence such as “Sama Simunul” and “Sama Sibutu”. Their culture focuses on marine orientation, rice and cassava cultivation as well as shipbuilding.
